  Five lakes    

Shiretoko was selected UNESCO World Natural Heritage Sites in 2005. Great wheelchair accessible wooden walk in five lakes. 800 meter long. We can see many wild deer. Wild bear also live here. This wooden walk protect people from bear attack. Wild nature walk needs professional guide. About 2-3 hours walk with guide is not suitable for wheelchair. The price is 5000yen.

  Falls   
There are some falls in Shiretoko. Oshinkoshin fall is easy access from road. Furepe fall is about 1 km walk, but it is difficult for wheelchair. Kamui wakka onsen fall is also nature walk, it means impossible for wheelchair. Great nature land.

  Sightseeing ship     
One of the main attraction. Many tourists hope to see wild bears from ship. However the tour boat are not wheelchair friendly. Many stairs when we get on the ship. Probably ship staff help, but it is dangerous. Small cruise boat is better because of less steps.

  Mashu lake    

Famous for foggy. Mysterious caldera Lake. The clearest water in the world. 3 lookout point. 1st looking point is wheelchair accessible with steep ramp. 3rd lookout point is only stairs. Ura Mashu look point (behind) is also with steps.

  Kussyaro lake    

Another caldera lake. Famous Onsen area "Kawayu" is beside the lake. Three outside hot springs on the lake. Free entrance. No charge. Men and Female together. Each natural hot springs are possible to access on wheelchair, but some steps around hot springs. 
  
 

  Akan lake     
Marimo (floating green algae ball) lives in only Akan lake. Hokkaido native inhabitant AINU tourist village here. Onsen and tour bout in lake. Soba noodle is famous around this area.

  Kushiro national park     

Kushiro is a big port for fisher man. Kushiro Marsh is tourist spot. There is wheelchair accessible wooden walk (1100m long). The condition of path is not good and hilly, but possible to go inside Kushiro Marsh.

  Abashiri Prison Muesum     

Most famous prison in Japan. The prisoner worked so hard to pioneer Hokkaido in the end of 19th century. Today's prison moved a different place. This historical buildings were opened as a museum in 1983. All buildings have ramps for wheelchair users and baby stroller. There are some wheelchair toilets. We can also study Hokkaido explorer story.
